Ingenia Communities Frankston and Carrum Downs

Q & J Constructions was engaged by Ingenia Communities to design, build, and install permanent rental cabins at their Frankston and Carrum Downs communities. The project aimed to provide high-quality, affordable accommodation for residents while minimising disruption to the existing community.

Project Challenges and Outcomes: The Ingenia Communities project presented two significant challenges:

  • Installing the cabins in confined spaces, requiring precise planning and execution to ensure safe and efficient delivery.

  • Minimising disruption to the community during the installation process, ensuring that residents could continue to use the facilities with minimal disturbance.

To address these challenges, Q & J Constructions employed its expertise in off-site construction and crane installation. By building the cabins off-site, the company reduced the impact on the community, minimizing noise, traffic, and other disruptions. The cabins were then transported to the site and installed using a crane, allowing for precise placement in the confined spaces.

The outcome was a successful installation of 15 high-quality rental cabins to date, comprising 2-bedroom and single-bedroom units. The cabins, mostly measuring 9×4.8m and 7.2×4.8m, were connected to essential services, including power and sewerage, on site, ensuring they were ready for use immediately. The fact that these properties have been sold on realestate.com is a testament to their quality and appeal.
